HYDERABAD, April 30: A delegation representing the 191 female teachers, who had been dismissed from service a couple of years ago, the other day met with the Secretary Education, Ghulam Ali Pasha, and discussed with him impediments in their reinstatement.

The delegation was led by the leader of the All-Sindh Teachers’ Association, Qazi Aminuddin.

In a statement issued here, Mr Aminuddin said that the education secretary had directed the EDO (education), Hyderabad, to submit a report in this regard immediately.

Referring to the 52 female secondary teachers, who had also been sacked a couple of years ago, Mr Aminuddin said that Mr Pasha had assured the delegation that their cases would be finalised very soon.

According to the statement, the secretary also assured the delegation that a meeting of departmental promotion committee would be convened soon to fill the vacant posts between the grades of BPS-17 and BPS-18, especially posts of headmasters.

The delegation, the statement said, presented a list of educational institutions, which were in a dilapidated condition.

The secretary had also called for a detailed report from the EDO in this regard.

Mr Aminuddin, on the occasion, was accompanied by Shabana Rafique, Yasmeen Anwar Pathan, Rukhsana and Rabia Shah.
