KARACHI: Man shot dead; two die in accidents

KARACHI, April 29: Unknown persons shot dead a man in his house in Orangi Extension early Tuesday morning.

Police said that Muhammad Shafi Alam, 30, was asleep when unknown persons entered his house in Mansoor Nagar, Orangi Extension, pumped a bullet in his head and escaped.

Police said that the victim’s wife was in the other room when the incident occurred. The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for the postmortem examination.

ACCIDENTS: Two persons died in separate road traffic accidents in different parts of the city on Tuesday.

Police said that Kashif Habib, aged 30, was riding a motorcycle along with his friend, Faisal, when they were hit by an unidentified speeding vehicle at the Super Highway near Maymar Complex.

Both the injured were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, they were referred to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where Kashif died during treatment. Faisal was admitted for treatment, police said.

In another road traffic accident, a young man died in a hit-and-run accident in the Shah Latif police limits.

Police said that Muhammad Haroon, 29, was knocked down by a speeding vehicle while crossing the main road.

He was shifted to the JPMC where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

BODY FOUND: The dead body of an unidentified young man was fished out of the sea on Tuesday from the limits of the Docks police station.

The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi, where the hospital sources said the body was two days old.

Later it was shifted to the Edhi morgue for identification, police said.
