KARACHI, April 29: The Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Shahid Karimullah, said due to the volatile geo-political situation in the region, the Pakistan Navy needed to remain prepared to embark upon more versatile and sustained operations.
The navy passed through the recent tense period in an honourable manner, which was a time of trial of courage and professionalism, he said, while addressing the Pakistan Navy’s annual safety review, 2002, held at the Bahria Auditorium, on Tuesday.
He emphasized the need to conduct all operations boldly, without any inhibition, while maintaining high standards of safety.
He said the nation was spending a significant portion of its resources to support the armed forces, adding that it was incumbent upon the PN to ensure safety of its men and material, while planning and executing operations, both at sea and ashore.
