KARACHI, April 29: The federal government will extend its support for the rehabilitation of the shiftees of the Lyari Expressway Project.

This was stated by the deputy chief the planning and development division, Rana Shahid, and advisor to the chairman of the planning commission, Shaikh Murtaza, while handing over cheques and allotment papers of 80-square yard plots among 100 shiftees of the Natha Khan Street, Union Council 13 of Jamshed Town, at Civic Centre here on Tuesday.

They observed that it was a really a gigantic task and they were very much satisfied that the project was being executed at a fast pace by the joint cooperation of the federal, provincial and city governments.

Project director Shafiqur Rehman Paracha said the shifting and rehabilitation of the people was a very big challenge and it was due to the cooperation of the area people and the city government that the problem was solved peacefully.

He said the paper work for the rehabilitation and allotment of plots was being done in a very simple and transparent manner.—APP
