RAWALPINDI, April 27: The inter-provincial conference on law and order will be held in Islamabad on Monday.

Minister for Interior Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat will preside over the conference, an official source said.

Chief secretaries, home secretaries and inspectors general of police of the four provinces and Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) will attend the conference, the source said.

The senior officials of interior ministry will present a review of the seventh and eighth inter-provincial conference and the prevailing law and order situation in the country with particular reference to Balochistan, the source said.

The source said besides other issues, the proposal for installation of “reflectors” on slow moving vehicles would be discussed during the conference. During the sixth law and order conference, it had been decided to introduce uniform pattern of motor vehicle registration system throughout the country.

The source said the chief commissioner, Islamabad, would inform the interior minister that a constable of ICT police was getting Rs1,000 less as compared to a constable of the Punjab police.

Earlier, the conference was scheduled to be held on April 23.
