MOHMAND AGENCY, April 27: District magistrate of Goshta, a district of Nangarhar province of Afghanistan, has asked the elders of bordering towns of Mohmand agency to remove the check posts on border.

In a letter to elders of Mohmand tribe, Haji Dosti, Sameen, Haji Raza Khan, Haji Yaroo, Haji Jabbar, Haji Yousufzai, Haji Mir Baz, Haji Gulab, Sher Khan and Haji Malang, he said that it had been a frontier land of independent Puktoons where Pakistan had built army posts.

Goshta chief official, Mohammad Ali, addressed the tribesmen that he was against the presence of Pakistani troops on the Afghan border.

He alleged them of selling out their lands to the authorities. “No Pukhtoon sells his land,” he added.

He asked them to remove the posts, otherwise they would be barred from entering and running business in Afghanistan. The Goshta chief warned them of dire consequences in the future, if they entered his area.

The letter, stamped by the Goshta magistrate, was in Pushto script.
