PESHAWAR, April 25: The first Services International Master Cup All-Pakistan Table Tennis championship will start from Sunday at the gymnasium of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Peshawar, Kifayatullah Khan, secretary NWFP Table Tennis Association said on Friday.

While addressing a press conference, the secretary said that this was the biggest table tennis tournament ever to be organised in Peshawar in which eight teams of different departments including ABL, UBL, Army, Pakistan Wapda, Lahore Zone, Faisalabad Zone, Karachi and host Peshawar would be participating.

Top seeded players will take part in the event which will last for ten days.

Top 20 players of Pakistan would be selected on the basis of the championship who would later be imparted training in China.

On the occasion, the vice-president of Pakistan Table Tennis Federation (PTTF), Iftikhar said that Peshawar had been selected as the venue in order to provide opportunities to local players and dispel the impression that injustices were done to the smaller provinces in sporting matters.
