TDCP’s deadline to bus company

LAHORE, April 24: The Tourism Development Corporation Punjab has decided to cancel the contract of a Chinese company if it fails to meet the extended deadline for the provision of buses.

According to official sources, TDCP authorities gave one more week to the company, Monolight, warning it that if it failed to provide the buses by April 30, its contract shall stand cancelled.

The sources said the deadline had been extended twice, but this time the authorities were firm that it would not be extended beyond April 30 and the contract would be awarded to some other company.

Meanwhile, a meeting of the TDCP held here on Thursday with provincial tourism minister Aslam Iqbal in the chair decided to launch four new projects.

The corporation will establish a tourist resort at Danna, the last point at Islamabad-Murree dual carriageway. It will also initiate a Disney Land project at Jallo Park, Lahore, while feasibility of setting up a recreational park at Bansra Galli, Murree, and a tourist park near Bhurban will also be taken up.

The meeting also decided to extend TDCP’s tourism and hotel management institutes in Lahore and Rawalpindi and introduce some new courses, including languages and information technology.
