KARACHI, April 23: Five ships carrying containers, palm oil and to load naphtha are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was light where only two ships, New Resolution to offload and load general cargo, and Maya-4 to offload oils were berthed after the departure of six.

The departing ships were led by Bunga Mastiga, Sima Bahar, PONL Singapore, Dong He, Spectrum and Ilia, while Marine Trader, Hyundai Sprinter, Eijin, Al-Cyonida, Maya-4 and Zadar are expected to sail out on Thursday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves maintained on the higher side where the total tonnage swelled to 75,415 tons comprising 18,710 tons of export cargo including 4,887 tons of rice and 56,705 tons of import tonnage, which also included 39,000 tons of oils.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Nikos to load 15,000 tons of naphtha, Titan Venus, with 6,500 tons of palm oil, Santa Cruz-1 with oils, Al-Manakh and Express Kailash, with containers.

KARACHI, April 23: Three ships carrying furnace oil, edible oil and coal arrived at the outer anchorage during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release on Wednesday.

Berth occupancy remained steady as five ships, Nedlloyed Damietta, Bahagia, Bunga Melati-6, Garcia and Despina were busy in loading/offloading containers, edible oil, furnace oil and coal.

A cargo volume of 58,110 tons comprising 47,502 tons of import cargo and 10,608 tons of export cargo was handled.

Sailing activity was also active as two ships, Sea Pride II and Stolt Innovation departed, while Nedlloyed Damietta was expected to leave the port on Wednesday.

Four ships, North Sea Anvil, Pan Sun Qeen, W.B. Berber and Chemstar King were awaiting berths at the outer anchorage.
