RAWALPINDI, April 21: The government will provide funds to set up a crisis centre for women in the district.

This was stated by adviser to the prime minister, Nilofer Bakhtiar, while presiding over a meeting at the district Nazim office here on Monday.

The meeting was informed that the land for the proposed crisis centres would be provided by the district government.

Ms Bakhtiar said the federal government was considering to increase the number of women police stations all over the country from 10 to 50.

She said personnel for the women police stations would be provided with more facilities and other perks in order to serve the cause of the women.

She disclosed that a proposal was under the consideration to set up complaints cells in these police stations.

The district council meeting constituted a four-member committee. The meeting of the committee would be held on Tuesday in the office of DCO.

The committee has been asked to submit its report to the district Nazim within a week.
