Seventy-five called for training camp

LAHORE, April 19: Seventy-five probables have been called for the Junior back up training camp to be held at the Pakistan Steel Sports Complex, Bin Qasim, Karachi Ground from May 3 to 15. More players will be picked after holding one-day trials at Quetta and Karachi on April 28 and May 2, respectively.

The names of 20 probables who will appear at the Ayub Stadium Quetta have been announced. Similarly, 16 players from Karachi and Hyderabad will appear in the trials to be held at Hockey Club of Pakistan, Karachi.

PHF, besides the selected probables for trials has also allowed any additional deserving player to appear in these trials.

Among 75 players, 38 are those who had been picked from the inter-provincial Under-16 hockey championship which was held in Bannu in February this year. The rest were picked from the recently held junior championship at Faisalabad.

Col. (retd.) A Rauf has been appointed as camp-commandant to be assisted by Asif Bajwa, Farhat Hussain Khan and Muhammad Anwar to impart coaching instructions.

The players should bring with them original birth certificate/ Form ‘B’/ Matriculation certificate to determine age credentials. They should also bring their playing gear and uniform (colour and white). The lodging and boarding will be arranged by PHF and the players joining the camp would be admissible 1st class return Railways fare.

Lahore: Shahzad Ali Nasir, Abbas Ali, Muhammad Abbas, Nadeem Hussain, Mubashir, Zubair, Asif Bilal, Waqas, M Khalid.

Gojra: Khurram Majeed, M Attique, Zeeshan Akram.

Islamabad: Kamran Zahoor Elahi, Shahid Maqbool, Ashraf Raj, Rafaqat.

D.G Khan: Khurram Shehzad.

Pasroor: Farid Ahmed.

Vehari: Kashif.

Sheikhupura: Noman Mukhtar, M Waqar.

Sialkot: Waqas , Zahid, Mustansar.

Bahawalpur: Najeeb-ur-Rehman.

Sargodha: Bilal Saeed, Waheed-ul-Islam.

Muzaffargarh: Irfan Ali.

AJK: Sohail Latif, Zohaib Aslam, Zahid Khan.

Toba Tek Singh: Ibrar Hussain, Ishtiaq Ahmed, Muhammad Iqbal.
