KARACHI: Concern over pollution in Keenjhar lake


KARACHI, April 19: Environmentalists have expressed concern over pollution in Keenjhar Lake, an important source of water supply to Karachi.

Keenjhar, which once offered a pristine look, has turned into a filthy water reservoir where owners of buses and wagons could be frequently seen washing their vehicles, besides disposing of their oil-spill in the lake.

A constant decline in the number of birds coming to the lake almost round-the-year is again a serious consequence.—APP
