ST Act amended

Published April 19, 2003

ISLAMABAD, April 18: The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) has allowed payment against any supply made in kind to facilitate the taxpayers.

According to a Sales Tax ruling issued on Friday, the CBR decided that the payment in kind by transferring landed property could be made for the facilitation of taxpayers.

It further said that it would be available by providing attested copy of mutation deed showing transfer of landed property between the two registered persons; transfer of property was duly reflected in the books of accounts with reference to sales tax invoice number and date.

Moreover, payment of sales tax due on such supply was made either by the buyer from his bank account to the bank account of the supplier or tax was deposited by supplier himself.

The balance/remaining amount, if any, even less than Rs50,000 was transferred from the bank account of the buyer to the bank account of the seller through banking instrument, as mentioned in section 73 of the Act.
