LSE shifts to new version of ISO

By Our Staff Reporter

LAHORE, April 16: The Lahore Stock Exchange has switched to the new version of ISO 9001 and 2000 standards after the inclusion of three more departments in the scope of the certification.

An LSE announcement said on Wednesday that the new certificate was issued by Moodys International after successful audit of Quality Management System of the exchange. The LSE was the first stock exchange of the country to become ISO certified in the year 2000.

Three new departments which have been included in the scope of certification are Risk and Exposure Management, Human Resource and General Administration and Building Maintenance. Another four departments — Information Technology, Clearing House, Company Affairs and Members Affairs — were already in the scope of the certification.

“The quality policy of the exchange is to bring the LSE up to international operational, technical, regulatory and quality management system standards and to gain and maintain the confidence of the investors as one of the best regional stock markets,” the announcement said.

The LSE has documented and implemented its Quality Management System and relevant procedures under the new version of ISO 9001 and 2000.
