QUETTA, April 13: The Awami National Party (ANP) has warned the government of an internal crisis if it does not take the leadership of all provinces into confidence keeping in view the present world scenario.
Speaking at the fourth death anniversary of Nawab Arbab Abdul Qadir Kasi on Sunday in Arbab House, the party leaders stressed the need of unity among all political groups of the country as according to them international forces might exploit the current situation.
Our rulers, they said, must learn a lesson from the Afghan situation, fall of former Soviet Union and crisis of Iraq. Without the support of its people, no country could resist external forces, despite having atom bombs or big armies to ensure the integrity and solidarity of the country, they added.
The rulers, they opined, should not ignore the ground realities that neither the government could alone govern the masses nor Pakistan on its own could face the international forces. The government must recognize the rights of various nationalities living in the country, and thereafter join hands with other peaceful nations to counter the American pressure on global politics.
The speakers claimed that the Khudaee Khidmatgar movement played a vital role against the alien’s rule in the Sub-continent, but unfortunately after the independence, Pukhtuns were denied their rights, which they said disharmonized various ethnic groups.
The ANP always struggled against military dictatorships and autocratic rulers to achieve Constitutional and democratic rights for the people of the country, they said and vowed that the party would not compromise on the principles of Bacha Khan in safeguarding the interest of Pukhtuns and other oppressed people.
They flayed the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal for inciting innocent people for Jihad. But its leadership was not willing to fight the holy war, the ANP leaders alleged and added that they were more interested in occupying seats in parliament.
The MMA on one hand arranged million marches to gain sympathies of the masses by delivering harsh speeches against America, but in Senate its representative Prof Khursheed at the behest of government tabled a soft anti-US resolution.
The speakers were ANP Secretary-General Dr Inyatullah Khan, its provincial President Arbab Zahir Kasi, Vice-president Malik Ghulam Sarwar and Nazimuddin Kakar.
Later, ex-federal minister Dr Abdul Malik Kasi highlighted the history of Kasi tribe.
