MPA accused of extortion

DADU, April 12: A large number of shopkeepers of the Sehwan town staged a demonstration outside the DCO office here on Saturday to protest against an MPA.

Talking to newsmen, Abdul Raheem Rind accused MPA Syed Asif Ali Shah of forcing shopkeepers to pay him Rs2,000 monthly.

He said the local administration forced them to close their shops when they refused to pay the amount.

Later, Federal Industries and Production Minister Liaquat Ali Khan Jatoi met a delegation of the shopkeepers and directed the DCO to resolve the matter.

POLICEMAN KILLED: Some unidentified men shot a head constable dead at the Bego Dero police station on Friday night.

The victim, Shafi Mohammad Leghari, was on duty.

The accused locked the body in a room of the police station and took away an official rifle.—Correspondent
