KARACHI: Man run over by bus

KARACHI, April 12: A pedestrian was run over by a bus on Super Highway near Gulshan-i-Maymar on Saturday.

The body was sent to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where the dead man was identified as Mohammed Raheem, aged 35.

The bus driver sped off after the accident.

A man died when he came under the wheels of a moving train in Baloch Colony.

The police said Abdus Samad, aged 41, father of three, was run over by a train while walking across the railway tracks. He died on the spot. Resident of Azam Basti, Mehmoodabad, Samad was a labourer.

ROBBERIES: Four robberies were committed in the city on Saturday, the police said.

Four bandits entered Supardullah’s house in Mohammedi Colony, held the family hostage at gunpoint and got away with cash, gold jewellery and other valuables.

Two muggers intercepted Mohammed Ali in New Karachi and robbed him of cash, four gold rings and other belongings at gunpoint.

Bandits barged into Raza Rabbani’s house in Clifton and got away with an audio-cassette player and other valuables.
