PESHAWAR: Conviction to be challenged


PESHAWAR, April 12: The Awami National Party will move courts of law against the conviction of party leader Azam Hoti by the Attock Fort accountability court in the assets case.

The party expressed the hope that Mr Hoti would get justice from higher courts and the accountability court’s decision would be set aside, says a press release on Saturday.

“Mr Hoti will continue his role in politics and all charges levelled by the National Accountability Bureau against him will prove incorrect at the high court level,” said the press release.

ANP leader Haji Mohammed Adeel said the party had much earlier declared NAB an agency meant to collect ‘ransom from kidnapees’.—Bureau
