Ibad against politicizing sensitive issues

KARACHI, April 11: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad on Friday emphasized on resolving the problems of sensitive nature with mutual consultation instead of making them a high-profile issue.

He was talking to the members of executive committee of the All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS), who called on him at the Governor’s House.

“The inter-provincial and other matters should not be politicized. Instead of polarization, we should resolve the differences with consensus and on the basis of facts and justice,” he asserted.

CM’s DINNER: Sindh Chief Minister Ali Mohammad Mahar has said the government is striving to resolve the problems of the press.

He expressed these views at a dinner hosted in honour of members and office-bearers of the All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) on Thursday.

He said as newspapers played an important role in the development of the country, the government was solving the problems identified by the press clubs of the province.

The chief minister asked owners and editors of newspapers to indicate and identify the problems confronting the people rather than following the policy of criticism for the sake of criticism.

Earlier, APNS President Arif Nizami, General Secretary Aslam Akber Qazi and Mujibur Rehman Shami said that change in advertisement policy by the government and increase in development activities was a good sign and would have far-reaching effects on the print media.—PPI
