KARACHI: Abdullah Malik’s death condoled

KARACHI: The Progressive Writers Association and Irteqa Institute of Social Sciences have jointly condoled the death of veteran writer, journalist and committed socialist Abdullah Malik.

The late Malik Saheb, who remained active in his literary pursuits for over sixty years, started his career as an activist in the Pakistan Movement and later joined the Progressive Writers Association. An eyewitness to many events of historical importance, he had to his credit several important books.

Abdullah Malik was an ardent believer in the ideology of the working class people and in peace among nations. He was jailed twice during Yahya Khan’s martial law for opposing the Army action in the former East Pakistan.

Abdullah Malik was a man of amiable nature and had his friends even among those who differed from him.

The progressives have lost a very dear friend in the death of Abdullah Malik.—Hasan Abidi
