MIANWALI, April 9: Honouring the call of the Punjab Bar Council, Lahore, lawyers of the local bar observed a strike to protest the US aggression against Iraq.

Scores of lawyers took out a rally and marched through various places. Bar President Advocate Abdul Majeed Khan said the lawyers unanimously condemned the US and its allies for killing the innocent. He added that the UN had become a silent spectator to the catastrophe in Iraq.

Meanwhile, the lawyers of the Isakhel bar went on a strike to express solidarity with the Iraqis. Traders also kept shutters of their shops down to join the protest.

SIALKOT: Lawyers in Sialkot, Daska, Pasrur, Shakargarh and Narowal on registered their protest against the US invasion.

Wearing black armbands, they took to streets and slated targeting of the innocent civilians.

The District Bar Association at its special meeting, chaired by President Munawar Warriach, condemned the US-led invasion, and passed resolution in favour of Iraq. They offered fateha for the deceased.
