PESHAWAR, April 9: The teachers of the Peshawar University staged a rally and presented a memorandum to the NWFP governor on his visit to the university.

A press release issued here on Wednesday said the Peshawar University Teacher’s Association (PUTA) held a strong protest against the car-lifting   incidents on the university campus.

The teachers were holding placards and banners which showed their discontent with the university administration about this problem.

They demanded quick recovery of the stolen cars and compensation for those teachers whose cars were stolen.

The DIG Tanveer Sipra gave assurance to protesters that stolen cars would be recovered soon and this issue would be discussed in a meeting on Saturday.

All associations of the Peshawar University have also demanded the recovery of stolen cars within three days.
