JHANG, April 8: The local Kissan Board and Anjuman Kashtkaran have urged the government and the Agriculture Development Bank to extend the date of relief package for defaulters from April 12 to June 20.
They said defaulters would be then in a better position to repay their outstanding dues with the money earned by them from wheat harvesting.
Talking to Dawn, Jhang District Kissan Board A.D Sial said that most of the ADBP defaulters were farmers who had spent all their money on the wheat crop which was ready for harvesting. At this juncture, he said the loanees/defaulters were in no position to repay their loans.
Farmers would require another two months for clearing their outstanding dues after selling their wheat crop in the market, he added.
