PESHAWAR, April 8: At least three persons were killed in separate incidents on Monday night and Tuesday.

A man shot dead Mian Zafar in Hayatabad Phase-III on Tuesday. Daughter of the deceased, Ms Hina, told the police that a man knocked the door of her residence in Hayatabad and asked her to call her father. When her father opened the door, the unknown person shot him dead and escaped.

Zahoor Khan, son of Yar Mohammad, was killed by unknown gunmen when he was on his way to his home in Badhber area on Monday night.

Zahid Khan, son of Hayat Khan, resident of Achani Payan, committed suicide on Monday night.

#KIDNAPPER HELD:# The police arrested an important member of an alleged kidnappers’ group from Ring Road on Monday. Sources said a police team nabbed Nouroz, son of Shamroz, resident of Ghari Qamar Din, on the basis of a tip-off.

During interrogation, he confessed having worked for the Siyal and Mujahid groups of kidnappers. He confessed to kidnapping the contractor’s association president, Haji Sattar, a month ago, sources said.

The police nabbed two car lifters, Syed Hassan Shah alias Abid, son of Wahiduz Zaman and Badhberullah, son of Mohammad Amin, from Kohat and Bhana Mari areas, respectively, on Tuesday.

On the basis of information given by the accused, the police recovered  a stolen car, No.F-8491, Karachi, owned by Mukhtiyar, son of Hashim, from Azad Kashmir.

#HASHISH SEIZED:#/ The crime investigation department seized 105kg of hashish concealed in five computer monitors and arrested two drug traffickers on Tuesday.

On a tip-off, a CID team at a road blockade stopped a Suzuki pick-up No.LHF-3344 on Sunehri Masjid road in the cantonment area and recovered 105kg of hashish concealed in secret cavities of five computer monitors, said  a press release.
