PSA Masters postponed

ISLAMABAD, April 7: The PSA Masters, the biggest event on the international squash circuit has been postponed because of the on-going war in Iraq.

The tournament was slated to run between April 22-27 in Doha, Qatar but has now been rescheduled for May 19-24.

The PSA Masters is a Super Series Platinum event offering $120,000 in prize money and draws all the top players.

Gawain Briars, the Executive Director of Professional Squash Association (PSA) said: “It is with regret that the Qatar Squash Federation and the PSA announce the event has been postponed.”

“We are sure that the event now booked for May will be as exciting and successful as it will now be anticipated,” Briars said.

Pakistan’s Mansoor Zaman and Shahid Zaman were to attend the tournament.

Also postponed was the WISPA World Grand Prix Finals, that was take place in Doha on the same dates as the PSA Masters. The competition will run concurrently with the men’s tournament.
