ISLAMABAD, April 7: Solar energy system is likely to be introduced at household level in Islamabad.
This was informed at a briefing given to the CDA chairman, Mir Laiq Shah, and other senior officials of the Authority by a private firm.
The meeting was informed that the solar energy technology was not only the cheeper one but also environment-friendly.
The CDA chairman asked the company representatives to install the solar energy equipment at a residential unit on experimental basis so that it merits could be evaluated. Similarly, he also directed the company to operate a tubewell through solar energy on trial basis.
The CDA chairman formed a committee, comprising director architect and director E & M directorates, to prepare a feasibility report regarding introduction of solar energy system in the Capital in consultation with the private company.
The meeting was informed that the Authority would have to make some amendments in CDA Ordinance 1960 to introduce the system.
