‘CII to study laws made during mly rule’

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, April 6: The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) has said it will examine all the enactments made in the last three years to determine if the legislative measures of the military ruler were in conformity with Islamic injunctions.

The CII in a statement sent to Dawn, in response to its story headlined “Election on special seats un-Islamic,” said it had been decided that the legal committee of the council would examine all the ordinances, orders and other regulations made in the last three years. The CII expressed regret over not taking up the issue previously.

CII Secretary Dr Ghulam Murtaza Azad said the report was “incomplete, and erroneous at places and conveys an inaccurate and misleading impression of the council’s thinking.”
