KARACHI: Man commits suicide Woman, three others killed

KARACHI, April 6: A young man committed suicide in his house at Abyssinia Lines late Saturday night.
The police said Mohammed Amin, aged 35, hanged himself in his house. He was father of two children and had recently returned from abroad.
The body was sent to Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for post- mortem.
KILLED: A man allegedly killed his sister-in law in her house at Nazimabad on Sunday.
The police said Amber Jabeen, aged 26, wife of Mohammed Pervaiz, was found dead on the first floor of a three-storey building in Paposhnagar, Nazimabad. The woman was strangled to death allegedly by her brother-in-law Mohammed Asif who lived on the third floor of the same building. The suspect, Mohammed Asif, was also found tied up in a nearby room on the same floor, with a minor injury in his abdomen.
The police said the suspect had inflicted the injury upon himself and later tied himself up.
The body was sent to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem.
The dead woman’s husband had stayed at his mother’s house during the night. He lodged an FIR at the area police station in which he named Asif for the killing of his wife.
The police arrested Asif for killing his sister-in-law.
The body of an unidentified man, who was in his mid-30s, was fished from the sea near the Fish Harbour. It was sent to Civil Hospital for post-mortem.
He was killed elsewhere and the killers dumped his body into the sea, the police said.
Sources at the hospital said the victim had been hit on the head by a blunt weapon.
After autopsy, the body has been kept in the Edhi’s morgue for identification.
A young man was killed in Saeedabad late Saturday night.
The police said Nisar Ahmed, aged 30, was stabbed to death by unidentified men near the terminus of minibuses of route G-13 in Nawab Colony.
The dead man was an electrician and had recently came over to the city from Lahore.
The body was sent to Civil Hospital for post-mortem.
An unidentified young man was found murdered in Surjani Town on Sunday.
The police said the body of an unidentified young man, who was in his mid- 20s, was found in a dry stormwater drain at sector 7-A of Surjani Town.
The victim had suffered an injury to his head that was inflicted by a sharp- edged weapon.
The body was sent to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem.
The police were looking for the heirs of the dead man, a duty officer at Surjani police station said.
FIRES: A fire broke out in multi-storey building on Sharea Faisal on Sunday.
A spokesman for the fire brigade said a fire broke out on the first and second floors located above a private bank near Jason Trade Centre in the police limits of Ferozabad.
The fire was brought under control when this report was filed on Sunday night.
The cause of the fire and the extent of damage could not be ascertained immediately, the fire brigade spokesman said.
In another fire in the bushes near Wireless Gate on Sharea Faisal PTCL cables were damaged.
It took several hours to control the fire, a spokesman for the fire brigade said.
