ISLAMABAD, April 4: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has sent references regarding regularization of kutchi abadis in four sectors and award of proprietary rights to I-9 Park settlers to the government for formal approval.
The kutchi abadis are in sectors G-7/1, G-7/2, G-7/3 and F-7/4 while proprietary rights have been sought for settlers of I-9 Park at Alipur Farash.
At the same time, approval has also been sought from the government for setting up a low income housing scheme in Zone-IV in the federal capital.
This was said by the CDA’s member (planning), Maqbool Elahi, at the 9th meeting of the steering committee on upgradation and rehabilitation of kutchi abadis in Islamabad.
The meeting was presided over by director-general of Sindh Kutchi Abadis Authority (SKAA) Tasneem Ahmad Siddiqui at the authority’s conference room.
The meeting took up various issues including extension in cut-off date for distribution of receipts of application forms and pending cases of Muslim Colony.
The member (planning) informed the meeting that 64 per cent bona fide dwellers of kutchi abadis including Afshan Colony, Essa Nagri, Dhoke Najju and Haq Bahu Colony had submitted their forms along with down payment of Rs4,000 and Rs8,000 while 36 per cent had yet to apply.
The representatives of different kutchi abadis, also present in the meeting, said they would continue to cooperate with the CDA and participate in the authority’s current project in MUSP Farash.
