KARACHI: New schools, hospitals have 16,000 jobs


KARACHI, April 4: As many as 16000 manpower will be required to make the completed educational institutions and hospitals functional in Sindh. Of these 12000 teachers are needed for the schools and 4000 doctors and other staff are required for hospitals.

For this purpose, funds to the tune of Rs120 million and Rs40 million respectively for both the sectors will be requisitioned in the next budget.

The issue was discussed in an meeting presided over by provincial minister for planning and development, Syed Shoaib Ahmed Bukhari, at Tughlaq House on Friday.

The minister instructed the additional chief secretary planning and development to apprise the finance department of the detailed estimates required for making the said schemes operational so that funds could be obtained.

The meeting also agreed to the proposal to upgrade large primary schools to the status of middle and high schools and provide education to successful students of primary classes in those schools.

The meeting was attended by additional chief secretary planning and development, Ghulam Sarwar Khero, secretary education Sindh, Ghulam Ali Pasha, secretary health Ashiq Hussain Memon, special secretary of the finance department, Malik Israr, chief economist of the planning and development department, Abdul Ghaffar Peerzada and other high ranking officers.—PPI
