HYDERABAD, April 2: At least 24 health facilities in the district have remained non-functional or semi-functional for the last many years for want of the ‘Summary for New Establishments,’ including the basic health unit in Machhi Para, Latifabad, which was established as far back as 1993.

Knowledgeable sources said that 15 health facilities were made functional without SNEs by making ad hoc arrangements, which included government hospital in Kohisar and the government hospital in Qasimabad.

In four other health facilities, the government has sanctioned only doctors and sanitary workers. The basic health unit, Bhaledino Kaka, Hala taluka, was upgraded to the status of rural health centre.

The 24 health facilities, which were awaiting SNEs, were established in Latifabad, Hyderabad (rural), Qasimabad, Tando Mohammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Matiari and Hala.

LOWER COURTS: Honourable Mr Justice S. Ahmed Sarwana of the Sindh High Court on Wednesday inspected the courts of fourth, sixth and seventh additional district and sessions judges of Hyderabad.

During his visit, the honourable judge also checked the record of various cases as well as inspecting the record room.

According to the tour plan, he would inspect courts of the first, second and third judicial magistrates, the joint civil judge and FCM, and the second extra joint civil judge and FCM on April 3.—Bureau
