KARACHI, April 2: A committee, comprising Nazim and Naib Nazim of Lyari Town, DIG Traffic, EDO (Revenue) and director general of Mass Transit Programme, has been constituted to review traffic situation in the residential areas of Lyari.

The committee was formed at a meeting held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of the City Nazim, Naimatullah Khan.

The meeting was told that scores of heavy vehicles used to be parked every day on various Lyari roads having a maximum width 60 feet. It noted that there was no justification of parking heavy vehicles on roads in residential areas while there existed a truck stand in the town.

The meeting also noted that more than 15 coaches, coming from Hub, were being parked at Lea Market whereas buses of Quetta were being parked in the residential areas of Lyari. These parked vehicles caused inconvenience for residents of Lee Market and Lyari, it observed.—PPI
