LAHORE, April 1: A six-event card comprising mediocre fields has been chalked out for the midweek Lahore Gymkhana races to be held at the Racecourse on Wednesday.

All races will be run over the sprinting distance of 1200m , the first to go under the starter’s orders at 2pm.

The feature event, the Kot Lakhpat Plate class VII division I has  the  largest  number  of runners, 15 barring last-minute withdrawals.

 On recent form, four of them come  into  reckoning, namely,  Polo Gambler, Morning Noor, Royal Class and Princess  Of Peace. They all have been on the board in their last outings.

Four-year-old  bay  colt from  Knight  Rider  out-of-Bazicha, Royal Class, who was slow at the start and had finished fourth in his previous outing a week ago should run well and win the  race.

Polo Gambler, Morning Noor and Prince Of Peace should fight for figuring  on  the frame. This will be the fifth  race  in  racing order.

In  the  supporting and fourth event, the Kot  Lakhpat  Plate class  VII division II, the three-year-old grey colt  Speed  Gun, who  was beaten in his previous outing by Free My Heart on  March 22, should make amends and emerge victorious this time,  provided he is sent with a will to do so.

This colt from White House out-of-Penalty Push, owned by  S. M. Naeem was beaten by three lengths on his first try out. He  is likely  to be ridden by jockey Shahid Rehman again.  Iram  State, Dancing   Margina  and  Khan  Bahadur  should  fight   for   less remunerative berths.
