Man burnt as fire breaks out at PM house

By Mohammad Asghar

RAWALPINDI, April 1: An employee was burnt critically when fire broke out at prime minister house on Tuesday, a source said.

He said the fire broke out, following an explosion, when a gardener, identified as Saleem, tried to light a gas stove around 9am.

Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali was also present inside the PM house when the incident happened. The security staff immediately called fire fighters. The room in which the fire erupted was destroyed, while the gardener was burnt critically after being trapped in flames.

He was taken to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences with 70 per cent burns. Afterwards, he was shifted to the POF hospital, where his condition was said to be critical.

A Pims doctor, while quoting the victim, said, apparently, the fire erupted due to leakage of gas.
