Murder accused Escapes custody

GUJRANWALA, April 1: A murder accused escaped from the custody of police in Naushera Virkan on Tuesday.

According to the reports reaching here, Anser Virk was involved in the killing of Javed Jatt in Bath village some few days ago. The case was investigated by SDPO Syed Noor Husain who arrested Anser Virk and handed him over to ASI Muhammad Ilyas Bhatti of the Haidari police post for further interrogation.

The ASI went to neighbouring Aulakh Bhaiki village on Tuesday for breakfast after handing over the accused to his subordinates.

The ASI disappeared from the police post when on return he found the accused missing from the lock-up.

Police teams were searching for the accused and the ASI in Naushera Virkan and adjoining areas till late on Tuesday night.
