LAHORE, April 1: Condemning the US allegations against the Kahuta Research Laboratories, the Jamaat-i-Islami on Tuesday asked the government to take reciprocatory steps like withdrawal of military bases from the US forces and putting an end to the FBI’s activities in the country.

Jamaat’s Naib Amir Prof Khurshid Ahmad urged the government to end coalition with Washington which, he said, had wasted no time in changing its priorities.

“As the sanctions were imposed on the KRL, the next day Pakistan was blamed for exporting enriched uranium to North Korea and other countries,” he said.

It was now crystal clear that America was tightening noose around Pakistan and, if the rulers remained submissive to the US authorities, the country’s sovereignty and its nuclear programme would be eliminated, he feared.

Time had proved that the United States’ so-called war on terror was actually a campaign against the freedom of Muslim countries, he said, stressing that Pakistan should immediately distance itself from the allied forces and take a firm stand against the “real terrorist” America.

JI Deputy Secretary-General Farid Piracha said it was high time for Pakistan to take a notice of baseless US allegations, and direct its forces to vacate military bases and wind up activities of the FBI in the country. “Immediate eviction of the US planes, soldiers and agents from the country is necessary to counter the US accusations,” Mr Piracha added.

He said the country that had targeted even sacred places of Muslims and did not hesitate in killing the innocent women and children in Iraq was shamelessly calling for invoking clauses of Geneva Conventions for its prisoners of war.

It was evident that America, Israel and India did not believe in any principle, except the one given through gun, he added.
