Demo held against loadshedding

DADU, April 1: A large number of people, including activists of NGOs, of the Dadu town staged a protest demonstration against the unscheduled load-shedding here on Tuesday.

The protesters told newsmen power supply was suspended to the town for five to six hours daily for the last five days.

They said Hesco officials were supplying electricity to ice factories and poultry farms and to save the units they suspended the power supply to people.

They appealed to authorities concerned to take action against corrupt Hesco officials.

ABSCONDERS ARRESTED: Three absconders — Rano Shar, Zulfiqar and Ghulam Shabbir — were arrested by the Daro police here on Tuesday.

INQUIRY: A committee constituted by the district Nazim has initiated an inquiry into public complaints regarding the Dadu Civil Hospital.

The committee, comprising union council-II Nazim Nisar Ahmad Shaikh, Bahawalpur union council Nazim Saeed Ahmad Jamali, Khudabad union council Nazim Mohammad Paryal Birhamani, and the EDO, health, Dr Khadim Hussain Lakhair, recorded statements

of people, doctors and other staff of the hospital.—Correspondent
