KARACHI, April 1: Another important road project, Shahrah-i-Chishti, has been completed ahead of schedule at a cost of Rs27.9 million.
City Nazim Naimatullah Khan inaugurated the 40-foot wide, dual-track, one kilometre-long road on Tuesday, which has been completed in three months with the use of latest technology.
The Nazim said the road is an important artery, which had not been constructed for the last 17 years.
Naimatullah Khan said that the development activities taking place in the city, so far, had been completed on time due to non- interference in the affairs of the city government.
“Now when some provincial ministers have become directly involved in transfers and postings of the city government officers, it affected the development process,” he added.
He thanked the Sindh governor for making queries from ministers in this regard. He called upon the governor to form an impartial committee to hear his and the ministers’ view points and submit a report to the governor.
He alleged that the officials of the revenue and the finance departments were transferred under a plan so that revenue targets could not be achieved and development schemes hampered. He said that beautification of Shahrah-i-Chishti and installation of streetlights would be carried out by the North Nazimabad Town.
Town Nazim Fasihuddin Siddiqi praised the City Nazim for carrying out massive development activities in a short period.—APP
