KARACHI: Young man found murdered

KARACHI, April 1: An unidentified young man was found murdered in Korangi Industrial Area on Tuesday morning.

The police said a young man, who was in his mid-20s, was found murdered at a deserted place in sector 25-A of Korangi Industrial Area. He was hit by a blunt weapon on the head. There were also torture marks on the body. The dead man was wearing shirt and trousers.

The body was sent to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for post- mortem. After autopsy, the body has been kept in the Edhi’s morgue for identification.

ACCIDENTS: A young man died in a road accident on Super Highway late Monday night.

The police said Iqrar Ali Shah, aged 30, was knocked down by an unknown vehicle. He was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

He was mentally deranged and had been missing since Monday evening, the police said.

A young man, Anwarullah, aged 22, was run over by a train near Baloch Colony on Tuesday. The body was sent to the JPMC for autopsy.

DIES OF BURNS: A young girl, Yasra, aged 19, who had suffered burns in Liaquatabad late Monday night died in the burns ward at Civil Hospital on Tuesday.

Doctors at the hospital said the girl had suffered 90 per cent burns.

ACID ATTACK: A man threw acid on his wife after they had a quarrel in their house at Soldier Bazaar on Tuesday.

Maimoona, aged 36, wife of Abdullah, suffered acid burns in her house at Haji Ahmed Building in Soldier Bazaar No 2. She has been admitted to the burns ward at Civil Hospital.

The police said the couple had developed differences over the sale of their apartment. Abdullah wanted to go abroad after selling the property. His wife, Maimoona, opposed this contending that the property belonged to her. The couple had a quarrel on Tuesday morning during which Abdullah threw acid on his wife.

Abdullah was also injured in the scuffle. He has been admitted to Civil Hospital.
