KARACHI: EOBI’s new policy on registration

KARACHI, April 1: The Employees Old-Age Benefits Institution has adopted a new procedure for self-registration and payment by such employers who want to register themselves in the scheme.

According to an EOBI announcement, the employers can register under Section 11(2) of EOBI Act by depositing their own contribution of Rs20 in the form of a challan as set out in PR-03A.

In case the employer does not cooperate with the employee, he should inform the concerned regional office of the EOBI, the announcement added.

It further said in case of a break in insurable employment, the employer should not deposit his own share of contribution for the breaking period.

The employee will be awarded benefits from the institution if he qualifies the required period of insurable employment.—APP
