Large-scale reshuffle in CDA within a month: Faisal

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, March 31: A large-scale reshuffle will be conducted in Capital Development Authority (CDA) within a month to streamline the working of the authority, the interior minister, Faisal Saleh Hayat, said.

The minister told reporters at a Press conference on Monday that many CDA directors, including the newly-appointed director of municipal administration, were not up to the expectations of ministry.

He said the director municipal administration would also be replaced with a seasoned official, having know-how to deal with the sensitive issues.

To a query about the arrest of two senior officials in Bheka Syedan land scam, the minister said he was quite concerned about the FIA’s action because the two officials were stated to be the most honest in the Authority.

The minister said overall performance of the CDA was not up to the mark and he had ordered an inquiry to probe all fake compensations ever given by the CDA.

The minister said though National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had cleared all compensation claims and asked the CDA to dispose of these claims by its own.
