KARACHI: Police picket firing case


KARACHI, March 31: Arshad Noor Khan, the acting administrative judge of the anti-terrorism courts at Karachi, entrusted on Monday the trial of Zulfiqar, accused in the attack on a police picket outside the US consulate at Karachi to the ATC-5, headed by Haq Nawaz Baloch.

The judge also asked the police to submit the final challan against the accused by April 7.

Zulfiqar was arrested by the Rangers on Feb 28 on a charge of attacking a police picket in front of the US consulate. Two TT pistols were allegedly recovered from his possession. Two police officials were killed in the attack. Four others, including a Rangers personnel, were injured. — APP
