HYDERABAD, March 31: The president, Sindh Hari Tehrik, Azhar Jatoi, has said that rampant lawlessness in the country had proved beyond any doubt that the government was inefficient, incompetent and ineffective and it was simply incapable of delivering the goods.
He was presiding over a meeting of the central committee of his party on Sunday.
He said that the Jagirdari system was the root cause of all evils in Sindh and unless it was abolished, Sindh would remain in the grip of lawlessness.
He said if the Sindhi people did not wake up now, they will become aliens in their own motherland.
He said without unity among the people of Sindh they will not be able to protect their inherent rights.
The meeting called upon the world community and the UN to stop aggression against the innocent people of Iraq.
It demanded that the construction of the greater Thal canal should be stopped and Sindh should be supplied water in accordance with the 1945 water agreement.
The meeting stressed the need for establishment of Hari Courts and strongly opposed the construction of the RBOD according to the changed plan.
The meeting expressed grave concern over the expulsion of Sindhi speaking people from Karachi.
MQM: Mother of former MPA and MQM leader, Kanwar Naveed, died here on Monday.
A large number of people including Senior Minister Sindh Syed Sardar Ahmed, Provincial Minister for Planning and Development Syed Shoaib Bukhari, Provincial Minister for Local Government and Katchi Abadis Mohammad Hussain Khan, Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation Abdul Rauf Siddiqui, attended the funeral ceremony and prayed for the departed soul.
