KARACHI: Two men die in road accidents: Eunuch killed

KARACHI, March 31: Two men died in road accidents in the city on Monday.
The police said a young man, Mohammed Sharif, aged 30, was knocked down by an unknown vehicle in the police limits of Shahrah-i-Noor Jehan. He was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
An unidentified man died in a hit-and-run accident on National Highway.
The police said an unidentified man was run over by an unknown vehicle near Mateen Centre on National Highway.
The body was sent to Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre for post-mortem.
INJURED: Unidentified persons stabbed a couple in their apartment at Gulshan-i-Iqbal on Monday.
The police said unknown persons barged into the apartment of Iqbal Mirza at Hina Terrace in block 13-D of Gulshan-i-Iqbal and stabbed Iqbal Mirza and his wife Mehwish with sharp-edged weapons and escaped.
The couple have been admitted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where Mehwish is stated to be in a critical condition.
The police said the couple got married two months back, and since then they had been living at the same place.
The police said it seemed that the suspects had entered the apartment with the intention of robbery. However, nothing much valuable had been found missing, the police said.
PRISONER DIES: An under-trial prisoner died in Civil Hospital on Monday.
The Eidgah police, which dealt with the case, said prisoner Jamshed, aged 17, had been admitted to Civil Hospital on March 17 for the treatment of tuberculosis.
When his condition deteriorated in Malir Jail, he was shifted to Civil Hospital.
The police said Jamshed was arrested in a theft case.
DIES: A young man who was injured in a cylinder explosion at Buffer Zone a few days ago died in a private hospital on Monday.
The police said Mujahid, aged 18, was injured when five LPG cylinders exploded at Erum Shopping Emporium in Sir Syed town police limits. He was admitted to a private hospital where he died.
The body was sent to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem.
KILLED: A eunuch was shot dead in a petty dispute at Hijrat Colony late Sunday night.
The police said a eunuch, Hastaul Rahman alias Imran, was shot and injured by armed men who barged into his house at Hijrat Colony in Civil Lines.
He was rushed to Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre where he died.
Quoting the dead eunuch’s neighbours, the police said the eunuch was killed in a money dispute.
