No help being given to Washington: PM

By Ghanshamdas

JACOBABAD, March 30: Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali has said Shahbaz Air Base Jacobabad is not being used by the United States for attacks on Iraq, as is being exploited by a section of people.

He was speaking to newsmen in village Adam Khan Panhwar here on Sunday.

The prime minister said that having alliance with US in war against terrorism was different from having coalition against Iraq and added that Pakistan was not providing logistic support to the US.

He said: “We are victims of terrorism, therefore we are against terrorism in all its manifestations.”

Answering a question about the LFO, he said efforts were under way to evolve a consensus on the issue. The opposition had also shown willingness to talk on the subject, he added.

In reply to another question, Mr Jamali said the ban on recruitment of jobs from grade-11 to 16 would be lifted soon.

Earlier, the prime minister condoled the death of Haji Noor Muhammad Panhwar, the uncle of Mir Manzoor Khan Panhwar, Sindh minister for fisheries.
