Housing scheme approved

TOBA TEK SINGH, March 30: The district housing committee on Saturday approved a housing scheme for citizens of Kamalia on the Kamalia-Harappa road outside Kamalia town.

The meeting, presided over by DCO Saim Akhtar Kiani, was informed that on the request of MNA Riaz Fatyana, the Chief Minister Secretariat had already issued a notification in this regard.

The meeting decided that there would be 450 five-marla plots in the colony whereas some plots of seven, 10 and 20 marlas would be put up for auction.

Meanwhile, speaking at a parents’ day function in the Al Barkat Model Boys and Girls School, Gojra, the Punjab minister for forests and fisheries, Dr Ashfaqu Rehman, said the government had decided to provide more help to private educational institutions working on a self-help basis.

He added that for the uplift of education sector, the provincial government would get bank loans.

DCO Salim Akhtar Kiani, MPA Chaudhry Bilal Asghar Warraich, district Naib Nazim Haji Ghulam Rabbani and EDO (education) Bilqees Akram were also present on the occasion.
