KARACHI: International education show opens

KARACHI, March 30: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad has stressed the significance of quality education for spurring the process of development as well as for attaining progress.

He was speaking as chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the 12th Pakistan International Education Exhibition-2003, which began here on Sunday under the auspices of the World Learning Bureau.

The exhibition will later move to Lahore (April 2-3) and Islamabad (April 5-6).

The governor, who is also the chancellor of the public sector universities in the province, said, “we in Pakistan are mindful of the need to improve our education system and impart quality education to our youths.”

He underlined the role of education towards progress and prosperity of the country.

The director of the Bureau, Rashidul Haque, said his organization’s efforts were aimed to promote education in Pakistan.

He was of the view that both public and private sectors should contribute towards promotion of education.

The exhibition, he added, would also help visitors learn more about admission process for higher studies.—APP
