Growers asked to improve quality of fruits

MIRPURKHAS, March 29: Fruit growers and exporters of Pakistan should prepare themselves for facing new challenges in international trade as the World Trade Organization standards will be implemented in the country from 2004.

This was said by Dr Abdul Hayee Qureshi, in-charge of the agriculture cell for the WTO, Islamabad, here on Thursday.

He was speaking at a seminar held at the Sindh Horticulture Research Institute.

Dr Qureshi advised the growers to improve quality of fruit crops.

Atta Hussain Soomro, director, Sindh Horticulture Research Institute, Dr Yar Mohammad Jhanjhi, Hussain Bux Leghari and Anwar Gondal also spoke at the seminar.
