Two arrested on assault charges

KOHAT, March 29: The police arrested on Friday two of the three accused, who allegedly raped an attendant of a child admitted to Liaquat Memorial Hospital, on the intervention of the Nazim of victim ‘s village and officials of the district health committee, Dawn has learnt.

The three accused Omar Khan, r/o Mohammadzai, Mohammad Abid of Kohat city and an unknown doctor had gang-raped a woman, resident of Gurguri in a room of the special ward when she went out in the night looking for nurse. The accused were suspended by the administration which was under immense pressure from certain quarters.

Initially, in order to hush up the matter the medical superintendent allegedly transferred the two culprits (ward orderlies) to KDA hospital.
