KARACHI: SNF terms US attack barbaric

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, March 29: The Sindh National Front (SNF) has termed US aggression against Iraq atrocious and in violation of all norms of justice, honour and democracy aimed to implement the new world order for occupying smaller countries rich in natural resources or geographically in strategic positions.

The executive committee of the party, which met here on Friday with Chairman Sardar Mumtaz Ali Bhutto in the chair, observed that under the pretext of avenging the 9/11 incidents, the US mercilessly killed thousands of innocent civilians, including women and children, in Afghanistan without achieving any objective.

“How George Bush is going to kill President Saddam Hussein, who is the leader of his people and the head of an independent country, when he has miserably failed to contain Osama bin Laden despite using American might in Afghanistan.”

Calling upon the world community to rally under the banner of the UN and put an end to the aggression in Iraq, the NSF urged the UN not to assume a supine position and take positive steps to play its role as the guarantor of world peace lest it suffered the fate of the League of Nations.

The SNF criticised the government for failing to come to the aid of the Iraqis even though it knew that next it may be the turn of Pakistan.

The SNF termed internal situation deplorable, pointing out lawlessness, corruption, police terror and acute lack of basic amenities in the country.

“The new assemblies are not able to face the situation and have already failed,” the SNF noted and said the recently passed resolutions by the Sindh Assembly were only a battle of words whose fate would not be different from the past resolutions against the Kalabagh dam which were summarily rejected by the Centre.
